Adelante. [Ah/day/lahn/tay]. Spanish.

It means ‘going ahead’ or ‘moving forward’. The saying De aqui en adelante means ‘From here on out’. So that’s what I intend. From here on out. Moving on from the past, moving towards the future, my future, the future that I choose. Not looking back – taking that first step in the journey of a 1,000 miles and all that philosophical stuff.

What can I tell you about me? Born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, I have also lived in Mexico, Ecuador, London, and currently in Australia, since 1998. I’ve been to around 30 countries, mainly solo backpacking, in North and South America, Europe, Southeast Asia, China and Hong Kong, and of course Australia and New Zealand.

Health and nutrition are important in every day life. I was a vegetarian about  20 years but now eat a little chicken and fish. Running has become an important part of my exercise and wellbeing.

I have a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota (Journalism and Spanish).

Laughter, music (especially live music) spirituality, reading, writing, travel, eating, love & friendship, and moments of beauty and truth are all sources of inspiration for me.

Music transports us to a point in time, and I try to add a musical link to most of my posts.
